Sunset Overlook Wedding Photography in Chattanooga, TN

Get ready to be inspired by this Sunset Overlook Wedding Photography in Chattanooga, TN to set time aside during your special day to create memories as a couple. Seriously, how fun would an evening like this be on your elopement or wedding day?

After a full day of traditional wedding elements, Tyler and Christianna were ready to spend the final hours of the day together without any agenda or timeline. Their day had been hectic and the whole planning process had felt a little out of their hands so being able to say that this time was THEIR TIME was the goal. As we drove up the mountain to reach this overlook, we piled out of the cars with picnic gear and hammocks. They spent the first few minutes simply enjoying the view and reflecting on their memories from the day. They laughed about Christianna’s veil catching while she walked down the aisle and her confidence to just pull it off and keep going! The time spent with their bridal party and the toasts they gave at the reception remembered.

Next, they strung up a hammocked and continued to relax after a full day of movement. I prepared the picnic while they cuddled and kissed, and as they sat down, Tyler and Christianna enjoyed spraying each other with “champagne” (carbonated mineral water to avoid impacting the environment.) We grabbed a few portraits at the Sunset Overlook before completing the night with a final dance as the last rays of sun sank behind the horizon.

Time away from guests on a wedding or elopement day can come in many forms. While it might be a sunset picnic like this Sunset Overlook Wedding Photography in Chattanooga, TN, it could also be getting ready together or doing a first look. Choosing an activity for just the two of you can be another perfect way to make memories that you won’t forget (imagine going hot air ballooning over a canyon or snorkeling around a reef.) A great way to come up with something that fits your relationship is to think of your favorite date night activities and incorporate that into the day. If you love playing board games, pull out a deck of Uno. If ice cream shops are your go-to places, ice cream parlors can be found even in remote towns!

I love that 2-day elopements or weddings create the best of both worlds when it comes to spending time with family and friends and just the two of you. One day can include a welcome meal or reception, group activities, and even sunset vows while the next day can be a full adventure for just you and your partner (and your photographer who will be there to document those memories!) Even if you’re just eloping with a few witnesses, multi-day elopements can be a catalyst for incredible memories with those you love and epic adventures with your spouse.
