Furman University Engagement Session in Greenville

This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of hosting a one-on-one, photography mentoring Furman University Engagement Session styled shoot in Greenville which I feel is one of the best upstate photography locations. In addition to getting to know my mentee, Mara, better, I got to spend the morning with one of my dear photographer friends, Ruth, as she and her husband Oziel were our amazing models! This location provided the perfect backdrop for creating timeless and elegant photographs that truly captured their joy and emotions.

The Koi Pond at the Shi Institute for Sustainable Living at Furman University

One of the standout spots we explored during the session was the serene and picturesque koi pond by The Shi Institute for Sustainable Living. The reflections of the colorful fish and the reflection of the sky in the water added an extra touch of beauty. The Bell Tower, with its white walls and spiral staircase was the perfect stop before the last location: the Rose Garden. Despite being late summer, the fragrance of the blooms filled the air, adding an extra layer of romance! I loved that everything was within walking distance to make it such a practical spot. If you want to add a little more nature to your session, heading towards the mountains to enjoy the view at Bald Rock could be the perfect way to end an evening session.

Scheduling an engagement session is something I highly encourage as it really allows both of you to feel comfortable having your picture taken. By doing a session with your photographer, you'll get to know their shooting style, they'll get to know your personalities, and together, you'll create a comfortable rapport. It's a chance to shake off those camera jitters and discover that being photographed can actually be pretty fun!

While any engagement session is special, a lifestyle engagement session takes the prize for being the most memorable. Lifestyle engagement photography sessions are a beautiful departure from the more traditional portrait sessions. While portrait photography often aims to capture a subject in a controlled setting, lifestyle photography takes a candid and authentic approach. It's all about capturing real-life moments, emotions, and interactions in a natural environment.

Lifestyle sessions unfold organically, telling a story about the subjects' personalities and relationships. Instead of stiff poses and forced smiles, lifestyle photography encourages genuine expressions, laughter, and even imperfections. This Furman University Engagement Session in Greenville is a great example of that. These sessions embrace the beauty of everyday life, whether it's your laughter in their living room, stolen glances in a cozy cafe, or a walk in a sunlit park. As I always tell my clients, think of this photoshoot as a date night, and simply enjoy being together!

Your engagement is a special chapter of your love story, and it deserves to be celebrated. Having an engagement session means you're not just investing in photos for your save-the-dates (although those will be fabulous, too!) You're investing in memories that you'll look back on with joy for years to come.

Engagement sessions truly are something special. It's not just about getting some great shots (though you'll definitely get those) but instead, they're about building connections, capturing real moments, and creating memories that'll last a lifetime. So grab your partner, pick one of the best Greenville photography locations, and get ready to have a blast in front of the camera. Your love story is worth celebrating, and an engagement session is the perfect way to do it!
