Bridgerton Inspired Elopement Invitation Suite

This Bridgerton Inspired Elopement Invitation Suite is going to have you thinking about what a Bridgerton themed wedding would looking like. I know that’s what I’m thinking!

Bridgerton ticks all the right boxes when it comes to wedding inspiration. Not only are the romantic vibes strong, the flowers and colors of costume and set design bring so much joy and happiness just my looking at them. Ever since I was a teenager, the Regency time period (1811-1820 in England) have fascinated me. I blame Jane Austen for ruining my taste for modern men (good thing I found my old soul husband who is every bit Mr. Knightly that one person ever could be.) While Bridgerton is certainly a more modern take on that decade, there still is an unmatched air of posh and polishedness that fits the era so perfectly.

When one thinks of a Bridgerton Inspired Elopement Invitation Suite, flowers must take center stage. Valley Flowers of Ooltewah, TN provided the most stunning bouquet, boutonnière, and more to breathe life into these photos! Can’t you imagine Simon walking through their garden picking a similar bouquet to bring to Daphne before she wakes up one morning?

When thinking of Daphne and Simon’s love, their words kept ringing in my ear so of course I needed to incorporate them into their invitation suite. Her words to Simon at the ball especially seemed perfect to showcase what true love is all about.

I absolutely love shooting detail shots on an elopement or wedding day! While it might not be as exciting as a first look or as memorable as the exchanging of vows, there’s something perfect about starting with the small things that need to be captured. Sometimes it’s an heirloom jewelry piece or a memento from a couples engagement. Focusing in on how best to showcase its value puts me in the right frame of mind to be ready to spot other small moments throughout the day.

While set in England, the perfect spot to elope in those days was Scotland which seemed a fitting place for this fictional elopement (did you catch the thistles, the National Flower of Scotland, used in the florals?) Gretna Green, just across the border, was a place thousands of couples would run off to and begin a new life together: away from whatever was holding them back in their own home town. While it might have been for legal reasons back in the day, Scotland remains a stunning location to elope or honeymoon in! My bucket list definitely includes shooting a wedding in Glencoe because there’s a mystery that can’t be matched anywhere else.

I hope this little break from reality helped inspire you as I know it has me! A Bridgerton Inspired Elopement Invitation Suite is only the start of what can be imagined from the show. You can bet I’ll be watching the new season with eagle eyes to see what will inspire me next!
